Recipe Notes: Ingredients: 1 cup flour (I use whole wheat) 1 cup sugar 1 cup butter 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon brown sugar 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/6 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese Directions: Mix together the flour, sugar, butter, brown sugar, and eggs.
In a large bowl, whisk together the sour cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, Parmesan, and shredded cilantro.
Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir well to combine.
Pour into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the dough comes together.
Cool for a few minutes.
Cut the dough into squares about 3/8 inch thick and about 1 inch wide.
The recipe can also be made in advance.
Notes: *The recipe can be used for any size loaf.
The dough can be rolled out if desired.
If the dough does not stick to the pan, cut it in half and place in a bowl of cold water to soften it.
If it does stick to your pan, leave it in the pan until the crust forms and the water is completely absorbed.
**To make this recipe gluten free, omit the cinnamon and nutmeg.
The crust can be made without using breadcrumbs, just place the breadcrumb mixture in the bowl of flour and mix well.
To make it gluten free without using gluten, omit all of the spices.
